Boston and I are Once Again in Love

So I need to go to PaperSource to get invitation making goods for Emma's Christening and I think..drive to Wellesley or venture into the city again and hit the one on Boylston Street. I chose the city :) We head down to the T and wait for the train, we hear a voice call out and it's our friends who also have kids the same age heading over to the Public Gardens!! Yippie, the boys sit together on the train, I lug the stroller up the stairs but this time I have a fellow Mama holding onto Liam. Arlington T stop is complete and now includes an elevator!! We all get out, walk through the Commons, the Public Gardens, watch the swan boats, chase squirrels, feed the ducks, check out Make Way for Ducklings, the Frog Pond and the Playground, all before hitting PaperSource! The day is amazing and once again I find my love of Boston and for a moment I think...I might miss this place....

Peach Picking!

So we've picked a LOT of peaches in the last few days and I'm not sure who has more fun at the farms, me or the kids!
On Sunday we headed to Carson's Farm in Harvard and it was by far the BEST farm for picking I have ever been to. We had Blueberries, Raspberries, Nectarines, and Peaches, toss in a free hayride and it's a day in heaven.
Now what to make..peach pie perhaps?

Camping and the Koch's

We did it, camped with a 2 year old (who won't sleep anywhere but his crib) a 7 month old (who had a 102 fever, stuffy nose and was teething) our dog, rain thunder and lightening, and a "rickshaw"
Despite all the "downers" we had an amazing time! Liam and I canoed, walked in the woods, had smores and swam together. The boys went fishing and Liam got to experience Paul catching a fish, he was so excited and kept wondering if it was pretend or not, ahh the innocence of a small boy.

Calling all Gluten free eaters

We have an abundance of Zucchini in our garden all ready and a blog I follow Finding Joy in My Kitchen had some great recipes. I tried the zucchini pizza and let me tell you it was sinfully good!! Yummy :)
She also is where I got the Fugdesicles and Creamsicles recipes from in case some of you were wondering!

SHIT the 4 letter word

Well somewhere along the lines of a rehearsal dinner, a "Meet and Greet", a wedding, and a brunch Liam heard the word shit and has used it repeatedly in and out of context. Is this what I have to look forward to once he leaves my nest for Preschool in the fall?? I let the boy out of my sight not even out of my surroundings for a few hours and I have to hear...
Oh shit, go shit, space shit, shitter, and this is shitty...
To no avail, time outs just involve him sitting in a corner saying "shut up, and shit repeatedly" me telling him it is a bad word only to hear it again and me firmly asking him what he said and him closing his eyes (guess if he can't see me I can't see him and the issue goes away) to me ignoring it (which is working quite well, no reaction = no fun for him)
God only knows what he will pick up at preschool, hopefully "please", "thank you" and "would you like a turn now" Well a girl can dream right :)

Stroller Addiction

Well as we all know and I completely admit and will someday seek medical help for I have a stroller addiction. I have A LOT of strollers and if I hear about one or see a good deal on one I usually jump on it and now I have completely justified it!
I grab my work horse of a double stroller, we head down to the store to recycle and I think WOW these cans are heavy cause the stroller is a bitch to push and only on Emma's side. After recycling it is still so hard to push on her side so I look down and notice I have a flat. Argh, I head home grab the pump and pump up the tire, good as new (so I think). We head out on our run and about a block from our house I feel like I am pushing 200 verses the 100 pounds I am already pushing, only to look down and see the flat again, so I pump up and run home. Not too big of a deal I'll get a new tube, however I have a dentist appointment tomorrow am and it is almost 5:30 now, no time to get a new tube before I need to go to the dentist tomorrow. Luckily I have more than one double stroller :) Can you imagine Liam running lose while we take the T into the city then again while I get my teeth cleaned. Ah Justifying my addiction and proving that it is not an addiction but a purchase of need and practicality :)

TV watching with M+P

So lately I have run into a few parents who have said wow I learned about this via this kids show and that kids show and I think to myself...are you really sitting there on the couch with Jr. while they watch TV?? I must be horrible, I toss Jr. in front of the TV so I can clean up, go pee or get a few minutes of me time, I don't sit there with them.. Does that make me a bad parent? I feel guilty enough about using the TV as a babysitter now I feel even more guilty about feeling guilty about how I'm using it.. Ahhh Mommy guilt will it ever stop!

Eastie/Running

Running in Eastie is just the pits, we drive over garbage, swampy water and dodge cars in crosswalks...Hopefully running in Nebraska will be different, dodging tractors and running over mammal poo...
Oh and the people who use baby buggies as can collecting transporting devices, I have the right of way thank you!
